Managing incoming documents

Documents arriving within a facility, typically related to the care for a particular patient, are presented within the "gmIncomingArea" plugin. Documents can be added to this area:

  • from the clipboard

  • from files on disk

  • from an imaging device (scanner, webcam, …​)

  • automatically

The plugin will show a preview for each entry and allow to associate it with a patient.

Automatic import

The client will regularly import files from

$HOME/gnumed/auto-import/

and

$HOME/.local/gnumed/auto-import/

The directories contain a more detailed description of the mechanism.

Saving documents into the patient chart

  • associate incoming documents with their corresponding patients

  • filter the incoming documents list

  • you now see only those of the currently active patient

  • checkmark items to be imported as one patient document

  • enter patient document metadata

  • save the lot

  • repeat as necessary
